Phi Eta Chapter
Texas Tech
$1.1 million raised
Summary
There are several factors influencing the decision to build a new lodge. The overall size, including the second floor, can no longer adequately support the current undergraduate chapter membership. Because of that, the weekly chapter meeting moved to an on-campus location to accommodate the numbers. The lodge is used on a daily basis for new member meetings, chapter meetings, study hall, officer training and council meetings, monthly “Delta’s Own” events, catered chapter dinners, Bible study and Panhellenic meetings. In order to continue hosting these events, larger accommodations are necessary.
In regards to recruitment and study hall, there is a great need to for adequate internet and AV equipment for educational purposes. Additionally, roof leaks, inadequate plumbing, electrical problems, and insufficient parking are major issues that affect the current state of the lodge. The plans for the new lodge include a library/den, a more functional kitchen, various offices and study rooms, storage, a beautiful new chapter room, and room to grow!
